Eset Smart Security (or NOD)

Microsoft Security Essentials:
     I have been very happy with it, but on my current machine, the scans were taking forever and ever.

Avira:
     I used to love it, but I've had too many problems with it on too many machines.  

ESET Smart Security 4 (x64)
     After MSE slowed down, and then Avira started screwing up, I downloaded a trial version of Smart Security.  It took a few days to get used to, and I had to disable its firewall, as it made my Internet connection very slow.  After a little break-in though, it's not so bad.

Your thoughts?

I have ESET deployed on the computers at my office.  We use AutoCad and Revit, so the files can get rather large.  Eset is very fast at its scanning.  I had to disable the firewall on my computer (still have one going to the Internet), as it is very restrictive.

ESET keeps telling me I need to update my OS, and gives me a list of updates to download.  Yet MS says there are no updates for my system, not even hidden ones.

What does Eset specifically say?

Nesser mind.  When I turned off the machine, it told me it needed to install 14 glarbing updates.

Eset used to be vastly superior to most other AV, but looking at the latest av-comparatives reports from earlier this year, I'd say just stick with MS security essentials.

I will probably return to MSSE, since my ENET is just a trial version.

The real problem I have run into is Tea Timer, which I usually exclude from Spybot installs.  I don't know if it conflicts with other AV software, or if it is just a system hog for older 'ware like mine.
