beware new USPS scam email with attached virus
« on: September 27, 2010, 05:05:51 PM »

According to the Postal Inspector's Office this is starting to make the rounds.  It comes with a ZIPfile attachment that contains some sort of virus.

No, I did not open the attachment.

I do not expect any of you wonderfully brilliant. aware and alert APS members to fall for something as crude as this, but you might want to alert your less discerning aquaintances.

Seems (as if I had to ask) that unauthorized use of the USPS logo is some sort of federal crime.  Hope they send a swat team to deal with whoever cluttered up my inbox.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

They keep making this eternal vigilance thing harder and harder.  Protecting the 2nd amendment is like playing PACMAN - there's no pause button so you can go to the bathroom.

There's a similar one going around with FedEx.  My mother got it in her inbox a few months ago and, since she wasn't expecting anything from FedEx, deleted it without opening it.

Honestly, I'm to the point of letting the gullible fools I know just take the bait, because even trying to explain the concept of scams and such to them till I am blue in the face isn't getting across.

You're both a couple of losers.  I'll have you know I won the Scottish National Lottery.  And I've got the email to prove it.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.
