Over the river and through the woods.........

We are heading out to NY again on Saturday.  First stop is to see my horse, second to see a friend in Cedar Rapids, then on to Grand Rapids.  After that it is a flying road trip to where my family is so that my Sis, Bro and I can finalize the details for settling my Mom's estate.

At this point I am sick of driving cross country and not seeing anything while the countryside slips away behind us.  I am getting to old for these marathon driving trips. :facepalm:

If the Grand Rapids you're stopping by is GR Michigan, find the Choo Choo restaurant on Plainfield and Leonard.  21 seats and the best burger in America.  Tell the gang hi from Hess Lake.

Grand Rapids, MI over night Sunday and Monday, then off to Upstate NY, then a flying return trip to Montana to pick up, or receive two horses.  Drove across Montana and back yesterday.  Beautiful drive by day, miserable in the rain at night.

We have been spoiled by Az weather.

We will likely come up through Binghamton and across the Thruway to just before Albany where we will catch the Northway.  I grew up in the Adirondacks and that is where my Mom lived until this last June when she passed away.  I drove back and forth in June and now we will do it again starting tomorrow.  I can't say I will enjoy either the reason for the trip, or the drive.  At this point I am weary of long distance drives and would like to not make another any time soon.

The round trips to get horses are 500 and 700 miles respectively.  I can't say that getting older necessarily makes one any smarter. :facepalm:
