Video: Bank robber tackled by customer
« on: September 20, 2010, 07:03:33 PM »
Ah, North St. Louis County.  Just up the road from me.

Video of suspect being held down and heckled by typical North County folk. Hilarious.
Some foul language.  And for some reason, they keep calling the suspect a "Taliban."   ???

Interview with the guy in front of whom you'd best not rob no banks.

See, just another middle-class working stiff trying to keep one of the underprivileged from getting ahead.

And just what will all those cops do who are going to be put out of work because they are no longer needed to actually chase and catch bank robbers?  [/sarcasm]

Seriously, isn't this the way it is supposed to be?  Members of society at large raising the "hue and cry" and then running the bad guy to ground so the coppers can take him off to the lock-up.  Leastways that's what I heard Sir Robert said.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

They keep making this eternal vigilance thing harder and harder.  Protecting the 2nd amendment is like playing PACMAN - there's no pause button so you can go to the bathroom.

Because one of the American ideals is that we are a "pack, not a herd". Something Glenn Reynolds and others promote as an important part of national security.

BYSTANDER: "If you say 'please' he'll letcha go."

ROBBER: "PLEASE! LET ME GO!"

BYSTANDER: "HAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!"

ETA--If you look at the end, it looks like the perp had a "cunning hat" lookalike. Guess it didn't help too much :D

I believe I heard the captor make a reference to "my tellers". Makes me think he's the bank owner/manager.

Watch the interview in the second link and you will see that he is just John Q Average Citizen.  IIRC he is a long time Boeing employee.

I was laughing pretty hard at that part.

I couldn't help but think how much either one of them would have benefited from some BJJ/Army Combatives training.

I think the old guy would have benefited from one of those other guys giving him a hand.

The guy talking about his tellers was somebody off-camera. Probably a manager.

ROBBER: "PLEASE! LET ME GO!"

BYSTANDER: "HAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!"

My favorite part, too.
