I'm at the end of the DSL loop and I strongly suspect there is some compromised line somewhere, because I very frequently have little or no connectivity at random times. This is especially irritating because by ATT cell phone doesn't work in the house at all, or even out on the street in front of the house very well, so I got an ATT microcell to create some connectivity in the house. But the outgoing signal is crappy--frequently no one can hear me. You can imagine how much fun this was last month when I had asthma/pluerisy. That repeating stuff progressively louder crap just hurt.
We once had no connectivity for about 20 hours of every 24 hour period, and were told that was IMPOSSIBLE over a series of very long and obnoxious tech support phone calls. Generally, they insisted it was our computer. Right. Because the macbook, the HP laptop, the Microcell and the xbox all decided to malfunction in the same way at the same time...Eventually they sent a district manager out with a repair guy and spent an afternoon replacing stuff down the line. Then it got better. Mostly. For a while.
Throughout this insanity, they kept trying to sign us up for u-verse, but we didn't want to spend the money. Finally, frustrated with the terrible connectivity, we agreed to get uverse. Guy came out and put holes in the floor, knocked out a few ceiling tiles in the basement, ran plenty of wire. And then determined we were fifty feet to far out to get uverse

Twice now, they've outright lied about pricing. When I first signed up with them, it was on some internet-only deal, but I'd just moved, was trying to get initial service set up, and only had internet at hot spots, and it just wouldn't go through. They assured me I could get the internet deal over the phone. Yeah. Until the first bill came and was $15 higher than it was supposed to be. I called monthly for something like six months, got a difference story each time, usually got credited the excess, but eventually decided that $15/month, every month was just not worth the hour+ of dealing with them by phone.
This past October, I shut down our old account and opened a new, dry-loop DSL line only account. I was sold a $25/month plan. Yeah, they've been charging me $35/month. And insist that no $25 plan exists. No one is interesting in addressing the issue of how and why someone sold me a non-existent plan. And now they keep moving my payment date. They hit my account on Dec. 6, January 3, and January 31. When I called today, they stated that the payment goes through any time between the 31st and the 4th. Apparently it is just my imagination that the first month's payment was charged on the sixth. After all their records show that the bill due earlier, and they don't really care that that's not when I was charged.
Of course, if I'd look at my bill, I'd know when it's due. Too bad I haven't gotten any bills on the new account. Can't login because I can't set it up because apparently the doofus who sold me a non-existent plan failed to accurately transcribe the last four of my SSN.

Yes, this is an issues that could be fixed, no I just haven't had the patience.
Yeah, I loathe ATT.
