I wonder if they'll nail him with five counts of perjury.  Maybe one of the downstate State's Attorney will go after him.  I mean it's a slam dunk case.  Takes all of five minutes.

Deputy, bring us some rope, we's gonna have us a trial !!!!  :police:

Figures the first post I read here is about IL. Around here when a polititian runs for reelection, we don't call him incumbent, it's unindicted.

So I guess the usual welcome to APS may be offered with a bit of caution in your case.  Usually we say "Howdy" and remind the newbie that ammo and beer all around are on him.  But in your case it may be appropriate to add "That is, if it is legal for you to purchase, offer, give, or exchange" any of said items.

But wait!  Didn't that nice, polite, articulate youg man who used to be a Senator from your state just eliminate DADT?  Seeing as how he is a community organizer and you probably live in a community it may apply to your purchasing, offering, giving or exchanging beer and ammo, too.

I have no derision for anyone in (downstate) Illinois.

I grew up there and I'm quite aware the corruption and control do not come from downstate, it's simply been infected by the cancer on the lake. (Sadly, I love visiting Chicago.I would never consider living there, though.)

Thanks for all the welcomes. I came from the corrupt, paved-over upper right hand corner, but now I live in rural Ogle County where I can walk down to the pasture and target practice without any hassle. I still have to show my papers to buy guns and ammo, or even touch a gun at the store, but it's a lot more relaxed out here.

Nahh, they are straight laced.  It could be that the initial charge was bargained down to a misdemeanor.  Anyway, they are double-checking.
