Firefox 4 vs. Chrome 10
« on: March 23, 2011, 10:06:46 AM »
I have been running Chrome over Firefox for some time now.  I am currently running Chrome 10.  I have just downloaded Firefox 4 and am putting it through the paces.

The latest Firefox seems pretty lickety-split and and better sync than Chrome.  I may have to run Firefox for a bit and try it out more.

Reviews I've read say Chrome get the nod over Firefox in performance.  My problem is Chrome is a product of Google and Google tends to be on the wrong side every time a privacy issue comes up.

I just upgraded to FF4 today myself.  So far, I am happy with it.  Of course I have never tried Chrome though.

It seems a bit faster than version 3.whatever.  I also like how "clean" the browser is.  It is not a jumbled mess that makes it hard to access options I use.  Seems like a keeper to me.

Not just that, but Google has seemed to have really slowed down for me. It takes a while for Google to load (and search), it takes a really, really long time for Gmail to load. Yahoo and yahoo mail, in contrast load very quickly (even though Yahoo's main page is laden with graphics and such). And I'm using Chrome. I remember back when Google main page loaded extremely quickly. It doesn't anymore.

I'm going to try FF4. I switched to Chrome after FF3 because it was just too slow and crashed a lot.

If you like Chrome at all, and you're using Windows 7, you really should try IE 9.

If you just got to Firefox 4 or Chrome 9+, then your browser now supports some cool stuff that you might not know about.

No, it's against the law to use it for anything other than video games

Uh. I was just asking why else I might want that feature in my browser, since I don't play video games much. Wasn't trying to offend you.
