Question about robbery photo
« on: April 18, 2011, 04:18:33 PM »

At this link: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/robber-forces-stick-up-victim-to-drink-multiple-bottles-of-soap/

Is it my imagination or is the slide on that pistol locked back?

In the video, the robber draws the pistol with slide locked.

The newest tactikool gangsta technique is to have the pistol at slide lock as well as 90* from vertical.  When you press the trigger and release the slide lock at the same time the momentum of the slide going forward imparts so much more momentum to the bullet that even a .22 will pass right through the victim, the guy behind the victim, brick walls, and the school on the nexct block.

I read about it in the May 2011 issue of Gangstas 'n' Guns. =D

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Yep, gun is a slide lock.  I like the comments.

Angel eyes, did you watch the video? You can see it very clearly there. No mistake, it's either locked back or way, way out of battery for some other reason.

Someone in the comments suggested that he may have racked the slide for dramatic effect, and it stayed back, due to an empty magazine. (Or no magazine, if Glocks roll like that.) The twerp has seen too many movies.

Many short barrel pistols you can see the breech face looking down the barrel. 1911 you can often see light around the ejector if unloaded. Revolvers, easy to assess from the wrong end. Glocks, trigger to the rear, no go bang. I sincerely hope that most thugs are not hand to hand experts, because if some thug ever points a gun at me and I can determine that it is not Condition one I am going to be a wee bit mad and I will do my level best to make surgical removal of said gun from crook a necessity.

I really wonder if the robber knew the pistol was disabled in slide lock. After all, I don't think anybody's going to get a big haul robbing a donut shop.

You don't do it for the money, man, you do it for the DONUTS. And you don't load your piece, on a donut heist, lest you put holes in the donuts.

Mr slidelock is going to pull his gat on the wrong hombre someday and end up either eating it or find out what a pistol ready to fire looks like.
