Ok, here we go again...The Race Card
« on: April 28, 2011, 11:40:22 PM »
The true racists are coming out from under rug again.  Only these racists are on the left.  They are news people, so called celebrities and other forms of hate filled critters on the left who have a public forum.  They accuse all Republicans or conservatives or tea party folk of being racist for any criticism of Obama.  Isn't that called stereotyping?  Have not these same hate mongers made much noise about the wrongness of stereotyping in the past?  Might not someone disagree with someone's stand on issues without being accused of ulterior motives?

They have nothing substantive to object about against those who disagree with Obama and his policies, so they cry racist.   They attack using vindictive hatefilled terminology.   Are they not actually the racists because race to them is an overarching reality in their world?  A mythical reality that has very little substance?  Race to them is an obsession.

I have noticed that many on the left appear to me to be a mirror image of what they accuse others of.  Ironic.  Folowing the constitution, promoting personal responsibility, halting government waste, reigning in intrusive government; all noble principals.  Yet the Left mocks those principals and rails against those who feel our country is better served seeking those principals.  More irony.  The left celebrates the low road and mocks the high road.

Ironically, most of whom they call racists are people who care not a whit about a person's race or gender.  Most on the right, it seems,  are more interested in policy and the direction the country is headed.  I probably could make a prediction that if certain people of color would make a run for president as an R, he or she would be elected.  So that would be racist too?

Racism and race warfare is too profititable to the Dems/leftists to let go...plus by accusing the right of racism, they can whip up one of their most solid voting blocs into a frenzy and keep them voting Democrat.

Works pretty well...and the right continually refuse to broach the subject and expose the truth...

I have witnessed a black owned and operated radio station, with a black host (who was also a convicted felon, guilty of Medicare fraud), drop the F-bomb on the air, call black Republicans Uncle Tom N****** and use other racial epithets and STAY ON THE AIR without fines. How long do you think a white host who used the n-word frequently would stay on the air?

What gets me is when they can't find anything actually racist in their opponents, they take something distinctly NON-racist that he said, define it to be a "code word" for something racist, and attack THAT as a racist utterance.

In other words, they MAKE SOMETHING UP AND LIE.

There WAS, however, racism that was very apparent in the last Presidential election . . . there are some people SO hung up on skin color, SO obsessed with racial politics, that when it comes to casting a ballot, they would cheerfully and enthusiastically, on the basis of pigmentation alone, vote for Idi Amin if he were running against Mother Teresa.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

The problem is that most (note I did not say all as there are some on the left with whom I can have rational conversations) leftists cannot empathize. They have an inability to place themselves in their opponents' position and understand the motivations of conservatives.

As such, since they believe their positions are not only rational and compassionate, they also believe they are self-evident. Thus, anyone who does not hold those positions must be irrational and hateful. To them, it's the only explanation.

So, racism, nativism, "fear", etc... are the imputed motives of their opponents in their world view. Because they cannot comprehend that someone would think their policies are not the best means for achieving good, they believe their opponents must be evil.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Veering just a bit:  A Democrat friend likes to send me e-mails that he receives.  Most of the e-mails come from his union.  The last one was a hateful screed.  One of the most notable comments was that America is NOT in debt, NOT broke, and that these were all lies being used to bust unions and make the middle class into serfs.

I've tried to reason with him that it is the real estate balloon that burst (thanks to leftist/statist policies) that has contributed largely to our economic woes.  Couple that with a dollar that has a diminishing value (thank you leftist/statists) driving up the cost of many things, particularly petroleum.  I'll even give him that our financial institutions can no longer be trusted and huge sums of money have been misappropriated by certain elements of our capitalistic system.  (can you say many laws passed to prevent financial chicanery were repealed/ignored by leftist/statist government?)

One thing is sadly lacking today in our institutions.  One word describes it.  Trust.   Venom, lies, propaganda, double talk, malfeasance, nonfeasance, racial and gender divisiveness inter alia is doing nothing to promote trust.  Till that begins to be corrected, sadly, we'll continue to spiral down.

Yeah, right - so what happened to all that debt accumulated when the Evil Bush cut taxes for the "rich"  ???

Debt is accumulated when you spend more than you take in.  One could cut our taxes to 0, and there would be no debt if nothing was spent.  Maybe we should start a new political conversation at 0 and go from there.

Of course the above is a dream world.  I've been badgering my state elected critters for years about spending.  One of 'em is even a friend of mine.  None of them listen.  I think they are handed wax ear plugs when they cross the city limits into Lansing, Mi.  And they are always busy eating and drinking the free food and drink the lobbyists pay for while opening the gift boxes to see what new bling they have been given.

You know, I always question when people talk about "capitalism" and it's problems.  It seems to me that many of the problems we are seeing are due to lack of capitalism and too much govt meddling in the market.  Of course, I think other parts of it are too many investors paying little or no attention to what they are investing in.
