The government encourages us to prepare, and then considers those of us who do prepare as "paranoid"   ;/
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

Love that series, have the DVD set.
Didn't really appreciate some of the stories when it first aired.  As an adult those plots seem much better.  Darn good series from a producer who was better known for marionette shows like Fireball XL-5.

Bingo.

I really doubt the people watching MSNBC instead of checking the CDC website are going to care enough to educate themselves either way.

FWIW, it made Yahoo a day or two ago.  People will see (indeed, HAVE SEEN) this to a greater extent than if it were just another "you should have a gallon of water per person per day, plus change of clothes, canned food, and Rx meds" message, and will be at least as likely to actually do something based on it.  And it cost no more to make this one than such a bland message would have.  That's a win, as far as I'm concerned.
