Teenager cuts off hair of toddler at McDonald's so judge orders the perp's hair cut off  :police:

"She definitely needed to be punished for what had happened," she told the Deseret News. "But I never dreamt it would be that much of a punishment."

What would "that much of a punishment" be then, a slap on the hand? Seems like the judge did a pretty good job. There was still the option of the 150 hours of community service. From the inference in the article, it's not like they gave her a buzz cut. They just cut off her ponytail. A quick trip to the girl barber after court and she could have had her hair fixed right nice until it grew long again.

Read the last bit of the article.  Apparently the kid has some major emotional problems that her mom isn't likely helping ("Princess Mentality" anyone?).  I think the judge was lenient.  I'd have made her shave her head in public.

If momma was so upset at carrying out the option the judge offered her, why did she just tell him "No"?  Whining after the fact about wishing she had taken the time beforehand to find out what her rights were is a good indicator of entitlement personality on the part of momma as well as the kid.

I'm more concerned about the kid going out to buy a pair of scissors and coming back to cut the younger girl's hair than I am about the threats of rape.  (Rape?!?  By a girl?  Or was she going to get he boyfriend to rape someone?)  It shows that there is more going on than "mere" impulse control issues.

Because I do not have a permission slip from the State and the guild I will not state that the child has tendencies that are consistent with psychopathology.  I'll merely state that it sure looks like that might be the case.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

Might be a darn good place to start.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. My first thought was that cutting it off in court was easy. If the judge were smart, he'd have ordered her to cut if off in her home room class in front of her peers.

Aspiring sociopath?

Kaytlen also admitted to charges in another case rising from eight months of phone calls she made to a Colorado teen that included threats of rape and mutilation.

Nothing "aspiring" about that. Looks more like already full-blown.

Trying to imagine how I would react if that was my child.

Of course, approaching my hypothetical 3 year old in a Mc Donald's with a pair of scissors is going to result in some physical damage to the teen...

Okay, Mom, since you've obviously done such a bang-up job teaching your juvenile reprobate right from wrong, how should it be done?

^^^ This. Clearly her methods failed. And really, did she NOT see the irony in that statement? People really do speak without thinking.
