Another help with Thunderbird needed thread
« on: April 09, 2006, 05:52:34 AM »
For some reason, whenever I click on an email address hotlink, Thunderbird just opens my email.  When I used Outlook Express, it would bring up a new message composition window.  Does anyone know how to do this with Thunderbird?  I went through all of the options in the Tools window but didn't see anything.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
Oh, Lord, please let me be as sanctimonious and self-righteous as those around me, so that I may fit in.

I wonder if it is an issue with your e-mail account more than Thunderbird. I use Yahoo for my e-mail and it opens a message composition window like it did for you with Outlook.

Check the settings in both your browser and Thunderbird, make sure each one is the default. When I click a link in Firefox I get a Tbird composition window regardless. These were the default settings, I had to change nothing. I am running Firefox 1.5 and Tbird 1.5 on Win2K. Have a similar setup on my son's XP box and no issues there either. Something in your settings is off track.

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

Just downloaded 1.5 today and it does the same thing.  I checked everything I could think of on Firefox and Thunderbird.  I don't know what else to do now.  It's not like it's that important, but it would be nice to get it to work since I'm in the process of looking for a job.

Dannyboy, are you using Firefox or IE for your browser. I am assuming Firefox. It could be Windows is messed up.

Click start| settings| Control Panel and choose internet options. Go to the program tab and make sure Thunderbird is selected as your email program.
