What I owe the Feds wipes out my state refund, but I'm going to buy an Xbox 360 anyway...

Not to cause thread vear, but maybe somebody can help me with this e-filing issue.  I donated a car during the year and followed all of the rules in order to claim the charitable deduction.  The rules state that you have to attach to your return a copy of the statement provided by the charitable institution that received the vehicle.  How the heck to you attach the statement when you file electronically?

I think you just need to keep it filed away with your printed return in case of an audit...could be wrong.

I dunno ... the IRS wants everyone to e-file, so I still send it in on paper just to monkey wrench the system Tongue
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

I had that same attitude too up until this year, I used to put extra staples in my return just for fun. I just wanted to get it over with this year and not have to go out and buy a $30 printer to print my returns.

I owe my accountant more than my "refund".
