Work is nice

I have a job.  Temporary contract job again, similar to the stuff I was doing earlier this year, but no long commute--it's ten minutes from home. 

Not much else to say, just wanted to give an update.

Well there's ALWAYS a chance of that, Scout!  =D

It is unlikely to lead directly to a permanent job, because of the way the system is structured.  It's set up to prevent permanent placement direct from temp position, rather than the opposite.  However, it is very likely to lead to other projects that may run through the winter, and all kinds of things could happen by then.

Hope it leads to something permanent.  Obviously not directly from this position, as you mentioned, but it sounds like this can lead to other projects that can lead to a permanent gig.
