I'll not re-read the article again but when I read it a few days ago, the author addressed the photoshop fanbois by noting that the author was given the original photo as well as 60 others that the photographer took and rejected. The newspaper's photography team inspected them and did not believe they were altered.
Its one thing to 'shop a 0.5 megapixel image like the one posted in this thread. It's QUITE another thing entirely to 'shop a 5 10 or 15 megapixel (dunno what his camera was) image, as well as 60 others from different angles and compositions.
I hate the "It's photoshopped!" trolls.
