I thought that Perry had created jobs in Texas .... why would anyone want to say the cartoon should have shown him "shooting" the bull?
There are some bitterly anti-Perry Texans about in the land.
Not quite sure what it is with the bitterly anti-Perry folks on the right.
I moved to Texas in 1999 and saw the tail-end of W and the entirety of Perry's terms as governor. Perry ought not get all the credit for the Texas economic performance, as that is the work of Texas's people. But,
Perry rightly deserves the credit for not killing the economy and for screwing with it less than most any other governor I have seen (I have lived in 9 different states, some repeats). In viable presidential candidate terms, he's a *expletive deleted*ing
miracle worker of inactivism in not killing the golden goose.
Perry is not my favorite policritter. For instance, I voted for Medina in the TXgov GOP primary. I think he is (insincerely) born-again hard on the border & immigration. He has screwed the pooch on a few issues, but backed off when folks got riled up. That latter bit is important, as any POTUS in the White House will need some (sincerely) born-again-hard Tea Party types to keep them on the wagon.
I'd like to know who else in teh GOP primary is better? I like Bachman a whole lot, she has great principles & rhetoric, but no record of actually putting her principles into practical measures as Perry has. Romney makes me laugh. The rest fo the crowd are also-rans, no matter how much they might tickle our fancy.
Tell the truth, anti-Perry Texans. You really want Jo
hn
Anderson Huntsman for POTUS.
