If you don't recognize the movie title, stop right now. Really. Go back to your paper, or your granola bar, or whatever...

Woo hoo!  More Bruce Campbell-as-Elvis goodness.

I really wanted to like Bubba Hotep.  I love Bruce Campbell (platonically as an actor ya pervs) and I love quirky movies, but I just could not get into BH.  Sad

A lot of people felt the same way - they were used to the "quirky-funny" Campbell movies. BH is, if you get right down to it, a drama with a healthy dash of scifi/action. Watched from that perspective it's just a darned good movie - introspective, innovative, imaginative, and a lot of other -ive's I'm probably leaving out. Plus, this is one of the few, and I mean VERY few, movies where I actually found myself kinda-sorta believing that the character was real, not just an actor playing one. Bruce just flat-out nails the "old, cranky, brokedown, don't give a crap anymore Elvis" character. And the soundtrack is killer (no pun intended) in it's emotive minimalism.

I defy your censorship!  I haven't seen the movie, but I read your silly thread anyway.

That's awesome!  I rather enjoyed Bubba Ho-tep

I really got a kick out of Ossie Davis playing JFK...

Excellent! Bubba Hotep is hilarious.
Has anyone seen The Man with the Screaming Brain? I thought it was ok but, nothing special.

Watching it right now for the first time; about 10 minutes in.  I bought a copy off eBay for $2.  (Wide screen "collector's edition")  Looks pretty good so far, except I haven't heard any East Texas accents.  They should have got some voice coaches from King of the Hill

Suspending disbelief now and gettin' back to the movie.  [popcorn]

A film suggested in the credits for Bubba Ho-tep, Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires, was discussed. In a DVD 'making of' documentary, Coscarelli said this was originally intended as a joke, however, due to positive fan response to the film, a sequel was a possibility. He then went on to speculate he would like to make a sequel documenting the production of a 'lost' Elvis movie from the 1950s or 1960s. Bubba Nosferatu never entered production, though Bruce Campbell, Don Coscarelli and Paul Giamatti (as Colonel Tom Parker) were reportedly attached to the project.

In late August 2007, Campbell said he was no longer involved in Bubba Nosferatu.[7] Joe Lansdale later confirmed that the project was dead.[8]

On Oct. 30, 2008, Ain't It Cool News posted an exclusive interview with Paul Giamatti — still slated to appear as Colonel Tom Parker — in whch he said the movie Bubba Nosferatu is still alive. Giamatti said that Ron Perlman is "interested in playing Elvis."[9]

On December 11, 2008, In an interview on the Cort and Fatboy Show Campbell stated that he will not be part of the film due to creative differences and writer changes.

During the Monster Mania Convention on March 14, 2009, Coscarelli stated that the film will likely be released sometime between 2010-2012. Don also said that future Bubba sequels may have different actors playing Elvis each time.
