cement filled nose back with a vengance

 So a few months ago ( spring ) I had become "addicted" to nasal spray. Not for any buzz but couldn't breathe at night. To get off the stuff I found an all natural spray called allergy buster only I got the CVS version for cheaper called nasal buster & I've been all out for a month but have not needed it. The natural stuff is basically pepperspray - capsicum in a water solution you spray up your nose ( the bottle says it has a powerful sensation, yeah right!)  now all the people on the ranch including the non allergic one ( I used to be the non allergic one too before moving here ) get cement nose like an hour or two before dawn ...Is it possible this is diet related? It used to be I could at least breathe out of one nostril by laying on one side but this is getting to be a pita, oh well I get to town in a week & I've got a ton of the afrin type sprays

How little humidity do you have?  Sounds like you are all suffering from dry noses, which can also have symptoms of otherwise unexplained nosebleeds.

If you cannot close of the room you are sleeping in you will almost need a CPAP mask with humidifier accessory to keep those passages moist.

Straight saline mist got my asthma under control and got me off the rebounding meds.  YMMV

Every time I go to the high desert in CA or NV, especially on my Fall fishing trips, I get this. Not the full cement nose thing, but when I blow my nose in the morning, there's lots of red in the tissue. I wonder if one's body becomes accustomed to that environment after a while, or if everyone just deals with it? Maybe yours is just secreting more mucus to counteract the unaccustomed very low humidity.

I have generally not been a fan of humid environments, but maybe there's something to be said for them. :)

I'm suspecting that how dry it gets here is a big factor but I cant figure out why last year at this time it wasn't a problem - all of this started on my second yr here

If "normal saline" mistings no more than 3 times a day do not fix your problem, then consider getting a sonic humidifier to use when you sleep.  If that does not work, you need to figure out what's behind the symptoms.
