Left to right. Coleman 30 lumens. Coast 109 lumens. Coast 150 (?) lumens. Coast 200 lumens. Coast 175 lumens. Kobalt (single bulb) 500 lumens. Kobalt (triple bulb) 500 lumens.

Just bought today. Seems to work great, small enough to be suitable for back pocket carry, one thing that might put someone off is the switch system. It has a high beam and a low beam setting. First click is high beam, second click off. Third click low beam, fourth click off. If you JUST depress the on button enought o turn on the light without "clicking" it's First press high beam, second press low beam.

Is that a mechanical pattern or is it electronic with a timeout?  I mean: If you turn off the light from high beam, put it in the drawer and pull it out tomorrow, will it go to low beam?  I know some of them have that built into the pattern of the switch, but others have a short timer to electronically switch modes, and once it's off for 10 seconds or some time, the next power on will be full again.  Another pattern is the first press is high, and if you press again within 10 seconds, it cycles modes, but if you leave it on one mode for 10 seconds, the next press will be off.

I got one of these Rayovac "Indestructable" lights and the part which annoys me is it is one click for high, second click is low, third is off, so I can't even turn it off with one click from high like the one you have.  Also, the half-press is off, not on,. so you can't flash it momentarily.

Seriously rugged light though, and cheap too.
On two occasions, I have been asked [by members of Parliament], "Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?" I am not able to rightly apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.

Good question. Looks like I got myself a lil' science experiment along with my flashlight... I'm guessing electronic because pushing the button just far enough to turn on the light doesn't seem to be enough movement of the switch to be mechanically reliable.

I am thinking of making a portable light using two of their 6" bars, drawing 4 amps, with >4000 lumens output.  Powering it all with a fullspectrumpower lithium p3 battery

Should run for almost 1hr 45min, weigh less than 10lbs, and cost less than a grand...but be a literally "stunning" amount of light (a normal car HID headlight is only about 2000-2400 lumens)
