Series already set up on the DVR.

I believe that the first episode is about the 1911.

I just set it up too. Now I'm wondering if it's a new series or not. I saw the 1911 one as the first one, but there's also one on snipers listed, and it's not showing as "new". Regardless, I've never seen any of them before, so it's all new to me. :)

I DVR'd it also.   Watched about the first 5 minutes.   The expert the host brought in said the 1911 is a "recoil operated pistol".   Fair enough.  However, the next words out of his mouth were something like, "the expanding gasses are what causes the slide to operate."    This was said over a cutaway animation of the pistol firing, with gasses escaping from around the rim of the cartridge while the slide traveled rearward.    I was unable to watch much more.

Shame.  Military channel has previously been good not to eff up the details.  History channel, however, tends to be so so on gun details.

This was History Channel grade material. The Science Channel show on Arthur C. Clarke was better.

Same here. I dumped it at the point they were 'competing' in the trenches.

I also DVR'd it and planned on watching later today. I'm disappointed that it doesn't seem to be getting the thumbs up. I had high hopes based on the host's interview -- especially his very up-front stance on the 2nd.

I hope it's good, too. All the gun shows I've been too lately just had beef jerky and Native American jewelry and - oh, wait. I misunderstood, sorry.

Nope, it completely sucks, unless you like minimal information and hokey recreations.

No decent gun shows that I am recording these days. Sheesh.  =(
