Etta James has Passed Away

Damn I hate hearing about all the good ones leaving us.  Means I'm getting older and closer to this day myself.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Bacon is the candy bar of meats!

Only the dead have seen the end of war!

Bummer.

'At Last' is a beautiful song - it was played as my wife walked down the aisle at our wedding.

Well, you going to pull those pistols boy,
or just whistle Dixie?

Great song. It's one of my wife's favorites.

We saw her in concert for the last time in 2008. She'd slowed down some from prior years, but she still had a great voice and presence.
