1000 Lumens of Goodness

"Alright!! Now I can really see!!...........Is that a mirror?............Aaaahhhh, now I can't see....."

I got this in a weekly email today.  I had not yet been aware there were 1000 lumen lights.  I thought my 200 lumen Surefire was bright enough to cause problems if you shine it on a white surface.  The spot on the wall will probably put spots on your eyes.  You might temp blind an intruder and you won't be able to see either.   =D

6 C batteries isn't too bad, and at 18 inches long, you can still mount it on your full length AR-15.   =)

I need to see what Black Bear on TFL is up to. I got one of his earliest D cell maglight mods 5-6 years ago and it was 900+. I'll be happy when I get one that makes things catch on fire.

how strong is it?  for a noggin knocker
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

I have one of those also. I think it is 959 lumens. I need some parts for mine, maybe I will just upgrade it. I thought for sure someone used one of the 959 lumen Black Bear units to light some paper on fire. Of course, you could be like me and want to light things on fire from across the room!  =D

For a very brief time Maglite made a 5 AA cell mini-mag, I shoulda bought 3 when I saw them. Now of course we start the light and fast vs. slow and heavy debate.

some noggins are harder than others  saw a big d cell mag lite bent over a head and the guy turned around and decked the cop.  the cop was surprised the guy didn't go down.  it was when pcp first came out

The discontinued 6 C-cell Maglight, with a 2 C-cell Malkoff drop-in, two cells at the tailcap, and a lightweight plastic or wooden spacer the size of four more C-cells would be the perfect choice.

Did a Cree update to my 3 D-Cell Maglite a couple weeks ago.  Wow!

Those "tactical" bezels just crack me up.

"Son, why the hell didn't you just shoot 'em, since it would've been considerably less messy?"    =D

You get into a cell-to-cell charging situation with some lights that use 123a lithium primaries, cheap unprotected cells, and an un-vented flashlight body design, and you can practically "shoot" someone with the tailcap and a cell or two.

There's a few threads on Candlepowerforums where flashlight tailcaps have shot holes through drawers, or right through a sliding patio door and landed outside on the driveway etc.  =D

Fortunately, it was always rare, and most cells are now protected with bi-metal protection disks that break the circuit if overheated, and even most cheap Chinese flashlights have a venting path somewhere in the body, switch, or bezel.
