Wasn't Secretary of Defense Panetta in Vietnam recently to receive some letters taken from a Marine who died in the conflict there, while returning letters stolen from an NVA soldier murdered by the imperialist running dog armies of the United States?

The issue with that clip is not the political or geographic division of Vietnam, but the intellectual & functional division of Ms. Lee's brain among the various inhabiting personalities/forces.

The amazing thing to me is:  Even though she is from a gerrymandered district with overwhelming Democrat majority, I am surprised even those people keep reelecting her.

There's one somewhere on youtube where she talks about the flag the astronauts planted on Mars.  I will say she represents her district well.  As long as they keep electing her they deserve her.

I have this crazy notion that her gaffes aren't widely known outside of conservative web sites and talk radio programs, so most of her supporters don't realize how dumb she is.

To answer your question . . . there's a certain voting demographic to whom skin pigmentation is SO important a qualification for an elected official, they would cheerfully and enthusiastically vote for Idi Amin if he were running against Mother Teresa. I think there's also a secondary dynamic, that some of those voters are just as ignorant, so what she says sounds perfectly fine to them, and for those who do know, they feel putting people like this in power is a form of protest vote, a way to slap back, and irritate mainstream America.

She is black and Democrat.  I believe her district includes a chuck of inner city Houston.  Numerous decent people including other black Democrats have run against her and lost.  From what I have heard, she has more influence than you would think has a lot of cronies working in various govt jobs.  One local radio guy loves to make fun of her and has commented about being suprised how many he has met who don't want to tick her off.
