Recommend a decent sprinkler timer?
« on: June 23, 2012, 12:41:10 PM »
For a whole slew of reasons, I like to have the sprinkler for my lawn come on at about 5 am. I have an in ground system with a timer, but for some areas I need to use a regular sprinkler on a hose. For this I've bought sprinkler timers at Home Depot.

I'm now on my second Orbit timer in 3.5 years. They just up and die on me. Water gets inside, although I don't know how, unless the inner seals start to leak.

At any rate, can anyone recommend at good quality timer that will last more than two summers?

I found these on this site they look nice and get good reviews. I going to set up drip line in my garden soon and I need something also.
I know what you mean about the crappy ones. Killed a few myself.

I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

Take a look at what these folks have to offer.

Thanks for the replies.

Why don't Home Depot, Lowes or other chain stores carry these brands? They all have the same thing.

The store wants low cost products.
The consumer wants low cost products.
Mass produced, in China, timers are a low cost product.
