Good 24" flat screen monitor?
« on: August 01, 2012, 01:33:10 PM »
My Dell 2500FPW 24" monitor died today. I got 6 years out of it, which isn't bad for a used monitor.

So, I have to get another one. Any suggestions on something $250 or less used? I'd like to be at 21" or bigger, and have something with good contrast and color. It also needs to have a DVI connection as well as vga.

I have a Asus VH236H 23-Inch 1080P monitor that I really like.  Asus has recently come out with similar LED-based models with faster response times for roughly the same price.

Mike Irwin has the same one as well, purchased after seeing mine, FWIW.

I use Hanns-G monitors.  You can purchase them through newegg.

We use the Asus monitors here at work and are happy with them as well.
I promise not to duck.

Bought a brand-new AOC 28" monitor on geeks.com for just over $200 last Christmas.  Prices are really coming down, so I'd imagine that 32" monitor I want will be ready this Christmas.   =D

Make that one more for Asus. I have had one for about 4 years and it's great.

Monitor tech has become pretty good and standardized

I am so glad I am not setting up 20 inch radius crts in pre press rooms today.

Well, I guess I got a bargain in 1995 with my Mac 8100 (144 meg RAM, 700 meg drive, 100 mhz processor), 20" Sony CRT monitor and Syquest drive for $5000. And the 200 mb Syquest discs were only $200 each!
