The Gilboa Snake!
« on: July 31, 2012, 03:16:21 PM »
For the love of all that is holy, please tell me this is some sort of elaborate practical joke.

http://www.gilboa-rifle.com/Gilboa-Firearms/Snake/

Quote
The Gilboaâ„¢ Snake was designed to deliver twice the firepower in any caliber. The features of the Gilboaâ„¢ Snake enable operators to accurately deliver two rounds into a target without the delay of cycling and the felt recoil which make “double taps” difficult to group. The Gilboaâ„¢ Snake will allow faster traversing between multiple targets by delivering two rounds with each trigger pull.

I would like to state for the record I had nothing to do with it.

Not if there are two independent triggers working two independent sears.

Not if there are two independent triggers working two independent sears.

This is the rifle analog to that twin-1911 that was announced a few month ago. Same problem applies -- they claim it fires two rounds with a single pull of the trigger, so under U.S. law that makes it a machine gun. If it actually has two triggers and two sears -- then their description of how it operates is inaccurate.

*Gotta admit though, if it were legal, and i had lots of money for wierd guns, I'd get one for a range toy. Just for S&G's.

But only if they stand VERY close together (or if the two barrels aren't regulated to the same point of aim).
