I grew up right in the middle of this, miserably caught in between Buck Owens and the Beatles.  Thank you Southern Rockers.
I still listen to them every day.  My first I Tunes purchase was Live at Fillmore East

Can't get that original link to work for my iPad.  What's it say?
"My limited experience does not permit me to appreciate the unquestionable wisdom of your decision"

Seems like every day, I'm forced to add to the list of people who can just kiss my hairy ass.

It's a really long video about the origins of Southern Country Rock...Allman Bros., Lynyrd Skynyrd, CDB, MTB, etc.
In a nutshell, how the south climbed out of having a very bad rep (or perception by many), to a better rep, via music.
