Summary: Two workers at a Chrysler auto plant have a problem with one another. One worker brings a knife to work, kills the other with the knife, removes himself from the area and subsequently kills himself with a gun.

Chrysler officials said no weapons are allowed inside the plant, which does not have metal detectors. Chrysler Senior Vice President Scott Garberding said they now plan to increase security at the facility.

That rule sure worked out great, didn't it?

Chrysler Workers: Stabbing At Plant Was Over A Woman

one worker at the plant told WWJ Newsradio 950′s Chrystal Knight he knew both the suspect and the victim and it all started with a feud that began a few days ago over the suspect’s wife.
 
“The one gentleman who allegedly did the stabbing — his wife works here at the plant. So, allegedly … they got into an argument about the gentleman’s wife,” he said. ”The gentleman, he got really upset about it, and today he was in a real weird mood.”

He keeps referring to the staber as "gentleman".  I'm not positive about Michigan, but it is common in the prison systems of several states I am familiar with (Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, New York, California, Louisiana) for one resident to refer to another resident as "gentleman".  Wonder if the same turn of phrase is at play here.
