Question: Why does the BSA have no competitors?

I would think that there'd be dozens of organizations rushing to provide - on a charity basis -various iterations of outdoorsmanship stuff and proper values for young boys and girls.

Have I missed a memo?

There is competition.  Several of the evangelical churches around here have Awana groups.   However, it is Christian based.  Think "Jesus Youth" only without the whole invading Russia thing and holding open the Falaise Gap. =D :P

Very similair to Boy Scouts with rank progression and outdoors stuff, but it's bible (mostly new testament) centered.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.

Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Why?
Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God?
