HOW did the national media miss this?

A couple of days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, many of the other patrons fled to a movie theater next door - the gunman followed and started shooting. (Aurora, CO, anyone?)

Why didn't his make the national news?

There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone.

Since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the national media largely ignore it, so it got little beyond local coverage.

The MSM didn't miss this.  It was ignored because it did not fit the narrative.

Not surprised in the slightest. Look how fast the Clackamas mall shooting was dropped when it came out the Bad Guy(tm) was confronted by an armed bystander. Can't have people thinking that personal weapons can be a good thing now, can we?

Uncle Sporty has an ad on my site for his store in Clackamas, OR. He also lists it under Clackamas, WA.

As for the cop shooting the bad guy, she should have waterboarded him instead. That might have made news if he wasn't caucasian. If it was a caucasian male, she should have said she shot him because he made a sexist remark. That would have made news, and Gloria Aldrich would have taken the female cop's defense case.

Also I saw this YouTube video yesterday, and the guy makes a good point about what the gun community knows, but the general population doesn't. I wish there was a more mainstream outlet than "The Armed Citizen" in the NRA magazines to get positive firearms use messages into the media.

We have a robber over here who took a Speer Gold Dot to the head this Friday...and lived. Not to tell about it, what with being in a coma right now, but he sure lived...
Oh, and he also got run over by the car when his partners-in-crime escaped...I think the wheel went over his head...but I doubt he felt anything :laugh:.
