CCI Rimfire Ammo
« on: January 07, 2013, 04:32:44 PM »
Where did it go?  Local stores are cleaned out and it is out of stock everywhere I've looked online.

Was it bought up as part of the current panic for some reason?  Did CCI stop production to focus on the possible AWB fodder?

I was looking for some standard velocity and some mini-mags for the suppressed 10/22 and buckmark.

I tried to buy some Stingers at Cabelas and couldn't find any. Couldn't even find a place on the shelf where they should be. Does CCI still make Stingers?
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

At my LGS the only CCI rimfire they have are shotshells.

Greentag seems to be gone everywhere too.

Makes no sense to shut down .22 production.

Everybody is just buying it up along with centerfire calibers...

Just regular old gun panic.

Remember, there are .22lr EBR's, too.  Hi-cap mag, pistol grip, shoulder-thingy-that-goes-up, flash hider and so on.  I don't believe the '94 AWB made any distiction between a rimfire EBR and a centerfire EBR (though I don't believe any rimfire AR pattern rifles existed back then).

I ordered five bricks of Federal from Sportsman's Guide over the Holidays when they had free shipping.  Original projected shipping date 1/7/13 ... new projected shipping date is date 7/19/13 ... Shades of '08 all over again ... doesn't matter to me, I'm not in any hurry.  [ar15]

There were conversion bolts then.

This thread makes me glad I have a metric-revload of CCI blazer as that's the only thing a p22 will eat.

There's a stash of standard at my range. Guess I best buy a few boxes before I run out and can't shoot any more matches  :O

Luckily none of my .22's are picky and I do have a LOT of stashed Federal bulk packs and subsonic for the bolt gun.  My only real shortage is for the 10/22.  With the 16" barrel, anything faster than standard velocity goes supersonic and subsonics won't cycle the action.  Once of these days I'll SBR the thing, maybe.

The buckmark is slightly more accurate with the minimags, but works fine with anything.  It does need 1200+ FPS ammo after it is shot for a while when suppressed, the suppressor fouls the action much faster and the extra "oompf" makes it run a little longer.
