XKCD: sick day
« on: January 07, 2013, 09:29:54 PM »

How I've spent the last week, more or less.

This year's version of "what's going around" is wretched.  This is day 9.
In thy presence is fulness of joy.
At thy right hand pleasures for evermore.

The graph did not include "crawling on the floor begging anyone in the house to put you out of your misery and offering them money to do so"

Almost as bad as while doing that you realize that there is no one else home.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

If you got what I had, you should be at least mobile again in a day or two.
3 days of fever, about 7 more days of weakness/soreness, and now about a week of hacking cough/runny nose. My son got it a week before I did, and he's still coughing...

Convinced me to get the flu shot from now on it did.

This is one of the big benefits to being anti-social. You never catch "what's going around" because there's no one around to give it to you.  =D

My situation, too, Regolith. The only problem is that I think my immune system has become weaker.

According to our doctors, there is a lot of flu going around despite the flu shot. Apparently a different strain than the one the experts anticipated is going around- so, the flu shot this year may have done you no good.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

My mother volunteers at the hospital, my brother is a cross country truck driver, my fiancee works retail and my job has  from the courts to in prison. I think I caught every strain this year. It just past week 3 and I've been cycling between 4 different colors of mucus.
