While researching a possible project, I ran across a forum dedicated to tobacco.  One of the threads is promising:

Reminds me... I have a native Arizona tobacco that I need to plant.

Aside from the "eff the ATF" angle of it, it's a natural insecticide that is effective in repelling all sorts of nasty 6 legged critters.

I've just started looking at flowering tobacco plants, and noticed mention of it being a pesticide/insecticide.  It'll be a plus if it can be used for more than just lookin' pretty in the garden.
