Fas Mart / Valero open carry issue resolved
« on: April 01, 2013, 09:06:11 AM »
A few days ago, I walked into Fas Mart carrying openly. I was told by an employee that "we don't allow that here unless you're a cop" and I was pretty upset about it. I wrote a letter via the corporate website expressing my displeasure.

I got a call from someone at corporate who said that not only do they have no such policy, but that he would make sure to straighten the situation out and provide some instruction for the employees at that location. Their policy appears to be similar to starbucks, et al. They have no policy at all, if it's legal where you're at, they don't care.

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

What could possibly happen while on a road trip with a 4yo?  ???

says the dad with a 9yo and 4yo...

I'm sure you know when the 4yo says "I have to go potty", there is an unspoken "immediately" in that statement.

I've discovered that "I need to go potty" means, "I have to go, RTFN!

And "I need to go poo poo" means "guess what, daddy.... Get a hose, cuz I already did !"

BTDT.

We keep a plastic "potty" (simple, easy to clean one-piece design), chlorox wipes, TP, baby wipes, and plastic grocery bags in our van for those emergency stops when there's nothing around for miles.

*sigh*

How did we get from a wonderful piece of Pro-2nd activism to house breaking children?

Whats wrong with crate training them? Has to work better than these current theories on the subject.

We used the barrel method.  It worked.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

I never heard the suggestion as a broad based method of child rearing.  I'd heard it as a proposal for raising teenage girls.  Turn 13 and its in the barrel.  Turn 16 and hole is plugged.  Release from the barrel was contingent upon medical proof the hormone surge abated.
