Dammit i made this hilarious joke and no one lol'd

I lol'd on the inside.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I thought you were dead serious.
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

I used to goto this semi-churched based activity wherein older guys would teach early to mid 20's guys practical skills. I even taught a couple, gun safety and how to build a fire.

Anyway, one time we had a couple Korean exchange students accompany one of the guys. As we were all sitting around talking folks started comparing the pocket knives they were carrying. I didn't have my knife on me (very unusual turn of events), but I did have my full size XD .45. Well, then everyone started comparing the guns they were carrying. I think the Koreans about pooped themselves. It's a fond memory.

Interesting timing on this one. The same day this is reported, two foreign-born students murdered 3, and maimed or otherwise wounded over a hundred other people in an American city.

Not that any of the 11th Sept. hijackers were on student visas, or anything.

And who can forget the Korean student who ran amok at Virginia Tech?

In the not-so-memorable file:

the Nigerian student that shot up his alma mater, the Appalachian School of Law

the Korean-born student that did the same at Oikos University

the Iranian-born student that used an SUV, instead

Yeah, it's dangerous here, with all these violent students we import.

Foreign students scared of guns in U.S.?  They'll get over it.  Or not.  Don't care.
Will educate if the oppportunity comes up like I did with Japanese co-workers years ago.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.
