Does anyone have any stats on how Dick's and CTD is doing lately?

Because I think the retailers are learning now what a lot of polititions learned in the 90's. Which is that gun owners put they're money and their votes where their mouth is.

I love their line about "our decision only affected a small percentage of exhibitors". What people are selling and what their beliefs are, are not necessarily diametrically opposed jackasses. They might have been able to use that line over the evil, EBR loving NRA pulling out, but when "hunting and fishing" family store Cabelas pulls out, you'd better reevaluate your PR.
That's right - I know if I were selling something else - say, moccasins - at a big show like this, I'd be pulling out too.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

In what freaking universe?

In the one where 50.01 percent of a demographic can steal from, assault, maim, imprison or enslave the remaining 49.99 percent purely from the standpoint of mob rule.

It's cancelled.

As if anyone would be surprised.

What I want to see is if they manage the SHOT Show next year.  [popcorn]

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

I just love it when a plandemographic comes together.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Given that I saw NSSF said something to the effect of "we're looking at all our options", I'm betting not. :)

At some point I don't really care if corporations want to support the 2nd. I just want them to be afraid not to.

Actually, Reed's statement is correct...

Only a relatively small number of vendors at the show had anything to do with firearms or magazines. Thus, they are correct, it was a small percentage.

But, they just got several very important lessons in solidarity and unintended consequences.

That, and improved definition of what "affect" means.

This. Fear works for the race hustlers and the feminists and the tree-huggers. It can work for us, too.

Same goes for politicians. I want my congress-folk to truly, passionately share all of my convictions, but all I really need is for them to fear the backlash of myself, and people like me.

I'll bet that neither will notice. Dick's will be fine with the Tim and Buffy golf club and spandex demographic and in two months all but bitter clingers like us will have forgotten CTDs treachery, just as soon as they have an ammo special that is .02 cheaper than someone else. Partly because retailers are not mean enough. Consider Ford and GM. If I had ran Ford I would not have missed an advertising chance to remind everyone who was on the take. I can't even be tough and say I'll never buy from them again since I never bought from Cheaper than Dirt laden with flecks of Platinum anyway.

On the Eastern Outdoor show, the economic hit will be huge. I have a co-worker who was taking vacation to go there, hotel reservations, etc. Imagine the hotel cancellations, lost restaurant revenue, etc.

I reckon they're referring to the $gouging on magazines.

And weren't they one of the outfits that suspended AR sales?

Lost revenue is estimated at $100 million.

A lot of small shops?  It will be a tough year without ESOS sales.  Cabelas is trying to invite some to sell at their store, but...  Lot of folks seriously voted with their wallet. Please buy something from those that supported the boycott. I have and will.

Plus they have almost no experience in organizing and operating an event of that size  Why, I can almost see them now, like a bunch of amateurs, planning for shuttle buses from the parking lots!

I may be wrong, but I believe that NRA does all of the field work for the associated show that accompanies the NRA Annual Meetings, and it is not small.
