They are White Faced Hornets!!

They are evil and must go.

Mike Irwin suggested some "Sevin" but I really don't want to get near these bastards. I got a can of that hornet spray that allows some distance

Don't like hornets much, but I hate Bald-faced hornets with a passion.
Charby's idea is spot on if you need to get anywhere near them.

5gal bucket of Onslaught FastCap and one of those big slider sprayers like you use on trees.  That should nuke 'em in about a minute.  You can take your time after that because the nest will be toxic as hell for a while.  Do it in the dead of night if you can and you'll fry them all.  I know it says it's for spiders, but compare the label to the raid hornet spray.  It's the same chemical for knockdown with a better residual and a synergist.

You'll want the slide sprayer.  Or a protective suit.

I've had good results with RAID Wasp spray. Stuff's a neurotoxin, they go down quick.

Alternatively, if you want something that doesn't stink and is toxic, orange oil-based sprays will also kill them, though I've never tried it on a large nest. There's a chemical in the peel (the name of which I can't recall) that basically causes their exoskeleton to lose its ability to hold in water, which results in dehydration and death fairly quickly (almost as fast as the RAID stuff). It may also interfere with their ability to breath. Not sure how well it'd work on a large nest, though.

I used to keep a bottle of this stuff in my bathroom, and it served double duty on the occasional mud dobber or paper wasp nest.

You're thinking of D-Limonene.

It's non-toxic to the point it's used as a flavoring/odorant for foods. It is a solvent in the terpine family, (Like turpentine) and as such, it'll dissolve the oils/fats/waxes that chitinous exoskeleton arthropods use to keep their "insides in and the outside out".

A D-Limonene dip or bath is a really good solution for a flea infested puppy or kitten that's too young for any of the other products out there too.

It's essentially the same solution as the brake cleaner I joked about earlier. Same kill mechanism.  =D
I promise not to duck.

I can report for Castle Key that he has been moved out of intensive care and into a regular room.

They figure he'll be released in 3 or 4 days, or when he stops looking like the Michellin Man.

Got stung once or twice, eh? Take plenty of pictures for us.

Nah. He was very cowardly and used a stand-off spray.

Which seems to have had quite the effect.

I think I might have borrowed a fire engine, just for training purposes
