National Debt Not Increasing

I haven't checked sources on it yet, but was wondering what APS thought about this?

I have a hard time imagining that the debt is actually not increasing, so how are these numbers being manipulated?  Swiping money from other funds to pay for the day-to-day instead of borrowing?  Direct QE to pay for day-to-day?

Didn't you get the memo?  Obama balanced the budget.  From his stash.

I went and picked on Matt Salmon last night at a Tea Party town hall.  He voted for CISPA despite a campaign pledge to vote against it.  But between the budget issues, immigration, Obamacare, 2A threats, privacy threats, warmongering, mexican gunrunning, botched foreign relations issues and everything else, I have to wonder what is falling under the radar and getting passed that we aren't seeing yet.  I brought up all the shiny distractions of all these topics and the lack of a mirrored blitzkrieg-style counter-attack by the GOP.

Salmon's response was "fair tax." ;/

"Sequester".   ;)

I predict Obama will be out front campaigning in 2014 about how he's balanced the budget despite those evil, heartless, baby eating Republicans.

Are you sure he wasn't refereing to the budget deficit, a yearly matter?
The national debt increases for every penny spent; it's nearly 17 trillion now.
The national debt is a conglomerate of what all our previous budget deficits are, less whatever loans have been serviced -- and that "servicing" is becoming ever more difficult.

Obama figured out that all he needs to do is print up enough money to cover the revenue shortfalls . . .
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

I read an article yesterday that an economist computed the debt at $70 trillion, if the govt counts everything it should be counting.

Ah, just found the article:

It's even higher than 70 if you count the unfunded liabilities. Social Security and Medicare alone constitute about $110 trillion in unfunded liabilities to workers owed their benefits at retirement.

National Debt Not Increasing
Oh, thank God!  For a while there, I thought we might be in trouble.  Whew! <mops brow>

It has been reported that Treasury has now started raiding the federal employees retirement plans (by what ever name they are called) as they have raided SSA.  It's gonna suck Big Time when these chickens come home to roost.  Further consider the effect of Operation Twist, wherein we load more cartridges in the cylinder as we play Russian Interest Rate Roulette.  That is to say, we pay off maturing long term treasury bonds by issuing short term treasury notes, 'cause the interest rate we pay is lower.  It is further reported that we will have to auction close to 4 trillion bucks of these this year.  How could anything possibly go wrong?

I support the passage of Federal legislation that mathematically, there "Are no numbers higher than 16 Trillion. Integers shall end there and go no higher.

That should do it.
I promise not to duck.
