Global Warming/Cooling/Stasis?
« on: August 24, 2013, 11:13:56 AM »
I guess this belongs under Politics:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/aug/23/pruden-up-to-our-ears-in-snake-oil/

This is an interesting, low-key article that pokes holes in the AlGore-ythm that is "Climate Change" (nee "Global Warming"). I've been aware for quite some time that temperatures have actually been falling for two decades rather than rising, and I'm sure the AlGore is also aware that Mother Nature has obstinately declined to follow his script.. The difference (one difference, any way) between us is that I regard that factoid as evidence that climate and temperature are, by nature, cyclical, whicle the AlGore regards anything that supports his theory as proof of global warming, and anything that opposes his theory as further proof of global warming.

What else could we expect from a man who walks with a carbon footprint the equal of many small citiers, yet proclaims himself to be environmentally responsible?

Me? I'm a global warming denier, and proud of it.

me, i'm cynical of both sides.  it's hard to imagine my carbon footprint is doing anything to change the climate, but the last 10 winters have been very mild in the northeast.

I'm perfectly willing to accept that the Earth's climate is changing.

Including the part about Global Warming creating an endless stream - absolute SWARMS - of intense hurricanes to batter the Atlantic seaboard and the Gulf Coast, one after another, throughout every single summer?

To be honest, I've been telling my wife I feel an early winter coming on.  I don't believe in the smoke and mirrors algore is trying to sell us.  Jessie Jackson shakes down corps for "bigotry," Algore wants to shake them down for "mother gia offenses."

Drought? Global Warming.
Floods? Global Warming
Record Heat? Global Warming
Record Cold? Global Warming
Still Air? Global Warming
Windstorm? Global Warming

The problem is the money in our pockets; the solution is to transfer it into Algore's pocket. Global Warming legislation is an immense financial scam that makes Bernie Madoff look like an back alley hustler with a game of three card Monte . . .

That was the first Climate Change.  Al Gore says that was our fault also.

GLOBAL WARMINGâ„¢ has a way to go before the next wave of Vikings can reestablish an agrarian society on Greenland. When it gets warm enough that it's too hot to live comfortably in Thule in the Summer, I might accept that there's some validity to GLOBAL WARMINGâ„¢.

Let's not forget that the warming trend that occurred around 1000 AD netted in a gain for mankind.  More food was produced, people lived better.  Truth is, Algore is trying to force mankind into the dark ages again and lower peoples standard of living.  He wants us all shorter and dying of malnutrition, Algore hates people!!

I've heard climate affected the Romans also.  During their big days, the local climate alowed for more Ag production and timber than exists now.  The same book said the effects also tended to push Germanic tribes out of the mountains also.  It came up in a discussion of which route through the Alps Hannibal took also.

No, can't say that I have heard of the song.  I'm not big on country music.

Meanwhile, Farmer's Home Almanac (With an 80% accuracy) predicts that we're all going to die in the cold.  Unless you live in the Mid-west (east of the Great Lakes) or in the Northeast.  Those folks will die buried by snow and those teams that make it to the Super Bowl will die in a Blizzard, along with their fans and all those attending the game.

So start stocking up on Whiskey and Toilet Paper now.  The world ends (in a frozen anti-AlGore wasteland) on Super Bowl Sunday !!!
