Anyone happen to tape the race this morning?  I'd gladly pay postage to get it.  Normally that race is rather a snooze fest, but as I understand it, it was one of the best so far this year.

Sorry, didn't tape it.  I did, however, watch it and the replay.  It truly was a bizarre race.  Hell, the whole race weekend was bizarre.  Made for great TV, though.  It should be on Speed again sometime this week.

Just checked the TV schedule for Speed and the race won't be replayed again.

No kidding.  Every time I thought I saw a "no f'in way, that did not just bappen!" incident, something else would come along and top it.  I was waiting for a UFO to beam the winners up off the podium.  Aside from my favorites not doing worth crap, it was a pretty cool race.  Sorry sumpnz, I usually record F1 races, and would be happy to send you a copy, but I had the VCR unplugged this weekend.

Speed usually does replays a couple times a week.  You might be able to find out when on their website.

Did you guys hear that Kubisca (best guess at spelling) was DQed for being underweight?  Schui moved up one place and scored a point.

Yeah.  That sucks for Kubica, who drove a great race but it's great for Schumacher.  Well, it's good for Schumacher.

That was a great race but the most bizarre thing, for me, was the fact that the Michelin Intermediate Wet tires were so superior to the Bridgestones.  Historically, the Bridgestones have been the better wet weather tire.  I guess because nobody had any data on the Hungaroring in wet weather that Michelin just got lucky.  The rain itself was rather bizarre, as well.  20 years in Budapest and it had never rained until yesterday.  The teams must have been having conniptions.  And then there's good ol' Jense.  Finally gets his first win.  He drove a great race to go from 14th the 1st but you have to admit, he got very lucky.  I don't think anyone thought Alonso was going to crash out like he did.  Except me.  When I saw FA come out of the pits sliding, the fisrt thing I thought was that something was going to happen to him.  Then a couple seconds later there was a yellow flag and I thought, "Please let that be Alonso."  He went out and Schumacher was in second and still going strong.  Then his tire started going away and he just couldn't accept the inevitable and he ended up with nothing.  Until Kubica got DQ'd anyway.

M. Schumacher should have at least gotten a drive-through penalty, if not ten seconds.  At least he got his come-uppance for his blocking; boinked his steering when they tangled on the second foul.  Smiley  Arrogant.  Yeah, he's about the best, but it's gone to his head.

The intermediate tread plus the softer compound was the reason that Michelin did so well.  The Bridgestone compound is harder, regardless of the tread.

The Turkish GP should be a good race, as well.  I really like that track.  Hermann Tilke's best work.  Too bad it's not located somewhere more hospitable.  I was watching qualy this morning and Bob Varsha mentioned that Turn 8, possibly the coolest turn in F1, needed a real name instead of just Turn 8.

Not sure how comfortable you are with any of the file sharing options, but it has been released and is out there.  If you have usenet it just got posted to a.b.m.sports.

Edited to add: whoops, didn't see how old this post was, don't follow the sport myself.
