Case in point - March 1944 ordnance mark, on a U.S. service rifle.  Something's not quite right, though?

There's no front sight installed.  The Army chose not to install the front sights, because there were no corresponding rear sights on their WWII Remington M1903A4 sniper rifles.   =D

Didja get yerself a new play-pretty?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Not new, it's a restoration project I finished in 2000 from a bubba-ized original that had hacksaw applied to both barrel and stock.

I found a new-in-wrapper 2 groove barrel, and new C-stock to bring A4 back to issued config.

I was initially leery of the barrel, but it really likes my 155gr Palma and 168gr MatchKing loads, so it stays installed.

It probably helped that I used a pull-through match chambering reamer.  When the bolt closes on the reamer, the chamber's perfectly cut! =D

What's new this week is my use of Adobe Lightroom with NEF (RAW) image format from the D300. Big files, but pretty neat!

I had one of those new in wrap 2-groovers installed on my shot out Smith Corona- the bore looks rough as a corncob with tool marks, but its a shooter with the 168 SMKs as well (along with 180gr Lee Cast loads).
