Sometimes.

During this last snow storm I had to drive to work in nasty weather, which was the reason for my original post.  I seriously considered turning around and going home because the weather was so nasty there was no way I was going to fly in it.  I was wrong.

As a reward for my 2.5 hour drive, which normally takes 1 hour, I got to watch an A320 slid sideways on the runway when a gust of wind caught it.  The "nil braking" report from that pilot shutdown the airport for about 45 minutes.

Duh, everybody knows you just jam the rudder pedals towards the wind and slowly increase thrust on the same-side engine.  :P

As was mentioned by a couple of smart posters, an entrenching tool is invaluable and I always keep mine in the trunk.

OTOH, I don't care much for cockroaches and fire ants  :P
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

Yep.  Live, Freeze, and Die.

Is cold front.  Must go to capitalist supermarket for ....

(He forgot eggs, bread, milk, and Cheetos.)

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!
