Looking for Reasons to be offended

Yes boys and girls, a randomly computer generated passcode of "Charcoal Shade" is racist.

Fortunately, this occurred in the (Formerly) Great Britain, however, we've all seen it here all too often.

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Speaking to the Bristol Post, Probert said: "I find it offensive because I am a black woman and I think that those two words 'charcoal shade' coupled together is just too much and I found it very, very offensive.

So, she's saying that having dark skin is something to be ashamed of.   =|

  Sorry, love. I guess they just weren't stupid enough to think it was offensive. (And didn't know your skin color, you git.)

"Charcoal" is just one of the fifty shades  ;)
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

Let's see.  She wants us to go through EVERY codeset generated to make sure it's 'not offensive'.  With a bar set somewhere below 'charcoal shade' being offensive to blacks.

I'm sorry, but that's a massive, massive undertaking.  Plus now that we're manually checking codes, we have to worry about 'fluffy bear' offending some individual because his cousin was attacked by a bear.  Because we're checking and should have known somehow.

As a coder, I have no problems filtering out the four letter words, indeed even stuff like 'death', 'rot', etc...  But the randomly generated combos?  That's asking a bit much.

Let's see... the color umber and its variants come from the Latin root meaning shadow or shade.  Shadowy?  Shady?

Dark people are suspicious! OMG.  Let's call Crayola immediately and get them to pull the umber crayons from their boxes.
