Oleg or Art are you removing threads? "open carry"
« on: September 13, 2006, 11:53:44 PM »
If not, you ought to know this character who calls himself "Open Carry" keeps popping up here with threads about him getting banned at THR and then the threads are deleted. He claimed he deleted the first one himself. Here's the last.

 ***
Look folks, do I miss posting privileges on the low road?  No.  Can I get back on and around their ban in 30 seconds using a proxy?  Yes if I wanted to.  My point in posting what I did was to appeal to any sense of justice among the members here.  I think we ALL know that the people at the low road are utterly ban happy.  The philosophical question, is does injustice bother us, or do we take the mentally lazy road and assume that whatever happens to someone is justified?

I would like to discuss the PROFOUND lack of empathy in americans now.  They quite literally do not care what happens to their fellow citizen, no matter what the situation.  Americans have become the epitome of selfish and callous.

The people current americans hate the MOST are those who A. make them think independently from the pre selected "norms" B. want to talk about uncomfortable things that have no instant solution, and C. dare to challenge those with power.

Like children, americans prefer to attack the messenger instead of discuss a philosophical/moral/legal point.

Whenever a question cannot be solved IMMEDIATELY and easily, americans want to move onto something else.

As proof of all this, when americans are ever confronted with evidence of their behavior, they respond with mentally lazy kneejerk reactions that usually involve telling the messenger to "move to Cuba then," or "move to china if you hate america so much" or similar diversionary tactics.

I am honestly curious to see if responders to this thread are capable of discussing the points I raised instead of focusing on ME.

Why did you remove it?

EDIT:  because the thread was pointless and just a flame fest aimed at me.

As you admitted in the other thread, you have already done this at least once (in violation of forum rules).

It was Stained_weenie

Oh, a third one? How many different aliases did you have there?

My point in posting what I did was to appeal to any sense of justice among the members here.

No, you didn't. Without giving any relevant data, you posted the PM notifying you of your ejection and expected us to just swallow that you had suffered a grievous injury.

I think we ALL know that the people at the low road are utterly ban happy.

Really. That is a matter of subjective opinion, not a fact.

The philosophical question, is does injustice bother us, or do we take the mentally lazy road and assume that whatever happens to someone is justified?

Look, you have been done no injury. THR (and APS) is the private property of Oleg Volk, and he and his appointed moderators have every right in the world to ban anyone they want to for any reason. You have no right to post there, and if Justin decided you were not going to stay, they so be it.

I am getting the feeling that this new thread is going to turn into another round of THR-bashing.

does injustice bother us, or do we take the mentally lazy road and assume that whatever happens to someone is justified?

Yes, I am bothered by injustice. As long as it actually is injustice.

You sure like to put words in people's mouths twy.  I never said I actually USED a proxy to go around some idiot's ban on THAT particular forum.  I thought you would get the POINT that I don't CARE enough to do that even though it would be VERY easy.

I guess I'll surmise that the moderator in question was perfectly justified then.

Huh?  That has no logical connection to the text you quoted.  You are displaying the default behavior I mentioned in my original post:  i.e. assuming that an "authority" figure MUST MUST MUST be correct, and that whatever happens to someone MUST MUST MUST be justified or it wouldn't have happened.  Mentally lazy assumptions both.

I don't have any information to go on except a couple of posts from you on here. I attempted to get more information from you and you refused to give it. Based on that, I'll assume your accusations are baseless.

This guy pops up on various forums here and there..used to post here as MAC something or other. Usually lasts hours before he gets banned for general asshattery.

'General asshattery'.  I like that. That should be a rule regarding that on every forum.

Why is this a thread and not a PM to the Mod and owner?

I think he really is deleting the threads himself. At the time I posted in the second thread, open-carry and I were the only people online, and that was shortly after the first disappeared.

Perhaps he's trying to hide what he has to say from moderators and Oleg by posting in the wee hours and then deleting?

I removed his account. Can't help wondering what sort of person would try to barge into forums where he's no welcome and of which he personally is of poor opinion. If he returns, I will recommend treatment for OCD.

I don't know about the bb software, but that would be stupid way to fly below the radar from admins.  I know with phpbb, all the posts are still in the database, just not visibale through the web.  Again, this bb might don't work that way.
