But the bill would allow the government to collect electronic communications records based on "reasonable articulable suspicion", rather than probable cause or relevance to a terrorism investigation, from someone deemed to be an agent of a foreign power, associated with an agent of a foreign power, or "in contact with, or known to, a suspected agent of a foreign power."
A draft of the bill acquired by the Guardian proposes the acquisition of such phone or email data for up to a year and would not necessarily require prior approval by a judge. Authorisation of the collection would come jointly from the US attorney general and director of national intelligence.
I was always pleasant, friendly and within arm's reach of a gun.
If government is the answer, it must have been a really, really, really stupid question.
Vote for a pure Red Communist or vote for a nicer, softer Socialist. Why do Republican haters always try to label non-haters as apologists? Does it make your hate feel better? Do you hate Democrats too or do you just accept that they are already damned?
I don't hate Republicans. I hate when people try to act like not voting for the guy who wants to destroy the Constitution and has an R by his name is some sort of vile treason.
I don't recall many on this board loving it up for Romney. Even with Rick Perry's blunder in debate, he would have been a much better candidate. Sounds like you need to listen to Mark Levin's radio show. He is a pretty smart guy but I get depressed listening to him because he outlines so many screwed up things the govt and both parties are doing. I can only take so much of that. For that matter, I can't think of any conservative talk radio guys I have heard who are supportive of the current Republican leadership. I don't watch any national or local TV news so I can't speak to that.
