CNN announces black-out of Benghazi hearings.
« on: May 22, 2014, 02:30:12 AM »
http://dailycaller.com/2014/05/20/cnn-president-jeff-zucker-were-not-going-to-be-shamed-into-covering-benghazi/

Quote
“We’re not going to be shamed into it by others who have political beliefs that want to try to have temper tantrums to shame other news organizations into covering something,” he explained

Quote
“Climate change is one of those stories that deserves more attention, that we all talk about,” he explained — though he lamented the fact that “when we do do those stories, there does tend to be a tremendous amount of lack of interest on the audience’s part.”

Quote
For all his talk of “real news,” Zucker felt compelled to explain why his network obsessively covered the missing airliner for two months despite possessing almost no new information.

Now that's even-handed journalism.

So his business plan is to cover things the audience is not interested in?

Apparently.  And judging by their (nearly non-existent) ratings, it's working well for them.

Oh hell no!.. Can't cover that ****!

He believes that he should be able to force his audience to care.

I've always suspected MSM believed the adage "Repeat a lie often enough and people will take it as truth."  I just never expected to hear the head of CNN admit it . . .

You know, he might just actually believe his own bilge.  I thought the guy was a bought and paid for stooge.  Now I'm convince he's a True Believer.  People like that need to be stripped of protection of certain parts of the First Amendment.  They are clearly propagandists.

News is what he says is news. If he isn't interested then it isn't news.

The left has increasingly become strident in not only insisting they proclaim the truth but also in refusing to even deign to debate the issues.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Yet if you can force yourself to look at the CNN web site for several days running, probably at least 75 percent of the "news" content is at least a week old. They seem to have forgotten what the term "news" means.

But the are hemorrhaging viewers.  I heard that they have around 250K viewers* during prime time.   The ONLY thing that keeps them going is the captive audiences in Airports, Doctor's offices and the like.

Keep pulling back on the stick Mr. Zucker, no reason to be alarmed that the ground is coming up fast.

So...you'd strip him of first amendment protection, which exists solely to protect free speech from the government, because he's not reporting something that may be damaging to the government?

I don't think you quite thunk that through. ;)

Besides, this guy is already reaping what he sows in terms of lost ratings and advertising dollars, so the government doesn't really need to get involved anyway.

A CNN "blackout" STRONGLY suggests to me that they're scared green that bad stuff about their guy (never forget, Obama IS their guy) will come out, and they really would like to cover that up.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

That might work if CNN was the sole broadcaster of the hearings.  Too bad they aren't.  =D
