Sailed the "new" boat today.

Got the new boat out today.
The A4 ran like a champ, more than enough power for this boat.
We motored out on a lake like a piece of glass. We put sails up and hoped for some wind. about the time we were ready to give up a breeze picked up for us.
Light wind but able to run close to 5 knots close hauled. The boat handles like a dream. Responsive to the tiller and stiff as a board. Once the sails were trimmed all it took was an occasional finger on the stick to keep her on a straight line.
Captain Doug* crewed for me for the maiden voyage.
*Genuine USCG certified.

More likely reef lines, or whatever you call it where you tie up the bottom of the sail because there is too much wind.
But I like your idea better. Avast, your hearty*?
stay safe.
* - Can't be "my" hearty - there's barely 1/3 of it left as is and I'm not sharing with anybody.

I figured since they were so evenly spaced they were either for some kind of securing technique or stray machine gun bullet holes.

The line of holes are reefing kringles. There are a few patches inthe sail but it's been refurbed, restiched, recut and re-resined. Seems to be a very good sail.

I would love to see photos of the interior. I don't know much about boats but are interested in them.

"I'm jealous," Tom Swift said, dripping with envy.
"Say, who is this 'Hal Cyon' he named it after?" Ned Newton added after a quiet break.

Wow, so you can easily go on a multi-day trip with something like this.

That's the plan, weekends at the lake. Sail some, anchor in a nice cove, swim a little, fire up the grill, drink adult beverages, eat good food. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.
Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Where's the like button?
Starboard side, aft. Between the bilge pump switch and Pirate mode switch.
