Owl kills canary

Yea, what's so special about that you ask? Well it had to open the cage in the apartment before it could do the deed.

A Coeur d'Alene couple says an owl flew into their 10th story apartment, opened up their bird cage, and killed one of their canaries.
The owner told KHQ that he woke up on Sunday and found bird droppings and feathers all over her apartment. He said he also saw a 6-to-8 inch owl behind a chest of drawers. Once spotted, that owl flew out the window, perched on the balcony for a while and then flew away.

One of the canaries inside the cage was dead and the other was pretty spooked.

Spooked, well I guess so, he knew he was on the menu.

I love the way they will prevent this in the future, which is in the linked article. They better hope that owl doesn't grow thumbs.
