Iron Dome at Work
« on: August 26, 2014, 02:58:28 PM »
Iron Dome taking out a 15 missile barrage. Side note of interest to me was the calm of the Israelis during the alert. It seems a pretty good indicator of how much crap they have to take when they react not much differently to the air raid siren than we do when we hear a fire truck.

Hell when I was in the Green Zone back in 06-07 we quit running everytime we heard the damn warnings.  Usually by the time the warnings went off we had already heard the thump of the mortar tube and the whistle of it going overhead.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Coming soon to an American city near you !!!
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Despite the fact Iron Dome is so successful that Raytheon, the losing bidder to Rafael, is now paying to license the system for American DoD use, the economics of this are going to force them to go with solid-state lasers sooner or later.

A $50,000 missile against a Grad made from a sewer-pipe or whatever just isn't going to work in the long run.
I promise not to duck.

Quite the fireworks show!
Was that vapor trail on the far right of the screen seen in the last few seconds of the video a launch by the blue team?

Then they probably wouldn't like my idea of followup by dropping a MOAB on each Grad missile launch site . . .
