I get to fix busted plumbing. Under the house. Now the conflict was I need to thaw the pipes. But when I do that I also thaw the frozen quagmire under the busted pipes . I vacillated about cutting out a longer run of pipe and working on top of the sheet of ice.
At least I have lots of experience tools and parts already. The experience is a mixed blessing.

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self. Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation. With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation. Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

That sucks, C&SD. Good luck.
At least most of my plumbing is in the basement. There is a small section of crawl space under the laundry room area. Wonder how that will fare with the upcoming single digit temps later this week?

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale. Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

Pier & beam here. They sunk the pipe in the dirt a ways and only the vertical bits go up to the fixtures.
